Responsival supported a local client, Day Owl, in the migration process from Yotpo to REVIEWS.io.
REVIEWS.io is a maturing review management software that seamlessly allows brands to collect and share user-generated content across the website and marketing channels (ie Google Ads, Facebook, etc.). REVIEWS.io integrates cleanly with most ecommerce platforms and provides excellent support.
Day Owl had previously aggregated hundreds of reviews over the years with their previous review curation partner, Yotpo. In late 2020, they decided to make the switch to REVIEWS.io with plans to take advantage of cross-platform integrations (ie Google Seller Ratings) in order to maximize their exposure. We then migrated Day Owl to a headless Shopify experience using our solution, bl!nk, and needed to make sure they did not lose any frontend functionality when it came to review widget display on their site.
When approached with the goal of migrating from Yotpo to REVIEWS.io, the Responsival team had several questions. Typically, review management solutions have a lot of nuance to them. How do we create product groupings? How do we migrate the reviews from one platform to the next? How do we block reviews on certain products? Etc.
In past experiences, we were thrown into the wild and left to read up on the sometimes-limited documentation, independently research our potential solutions, and ultimately execute on our own. But with REVIEWS.io, we were able to collaborate heavily with their support team which made the transition and migration process incredibly easy. They provided helpful tips and tricks along the way and our experiences with the overall data migration process could not have been smoother.
Within a week or two, we as a collective - Day Owl, Responsival, and REVIEWS.io - were fully transitioned. The initial review migration, product groupings, frontend display – the whole nine yards. Having been a part of dozens of similar migrational experiences in the past, the Responsival team was pleasantly surprised with the level of TLC that REVIEWS.io put into the onboarding process.
Next came the real challenge. In 2021, Day Owl approached Responsival with the objective of subsecond load times. We immediately recognized the opportunity to take their store headless through our proprietary, fully hosted headless solution: bl!nk. The project was a success, and through that experience, we had to rebuild every integration for their frontend that are typically served as “automatic” apps when using a monolithic ecommerce platform like Shopify.
Some integrations were tricky while others were relatively straightforward. We were happy to recognize that the REVIEWS.io integration fell into the latter camp. Recreating all of the frontend widget displays on our PDPs or PCPs (Product Detail Pages or Product Collection Pages) based on SKU consumed minimal time and resources to sort through. As always, their support was readily available to answer any technical questions that arose throughout the process.

Day Owl has plans to take their REVIEWS.io experience to the next level by integrating the platform with Klaviyo, their ESP, in order to unlock enhanced sophistication around the review curation process. As bl!nk continues to grow its headless integration library, we hope other softwares we come across will be as seamlessly integratable and accommodating as REVIEWS.io.
