Website + Digital Designer

day to day overview

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, and build original website design ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex roadblocks on multiple platforms including Webflow, Shopify, and Wordpress.
  • Strategize and create supporting website design documentation including sitemaps, style guides, user flows, high fidelity wireframes, visual mockups, and rapid prototypes
  • Assist with traditional and print graphic design collateral including but not limited to sell sheets, packaging, presentations, logos, infographics, icons, etc.
  • Implement digital best practices and adhere to style standards on fonts, colors, and layout to ensure final graphics are visually appealing, responsive and on-brand
  • Collaborate with team members to prepare rough drafts, present ideas, test graphics across media, and adjust design to best fit copy.
  • Understand project requirements and timeline, and use feedback from clients and internal stakeholders to improve.
  • Represents company at important business functions, community events, industry training and events, and networking opportunities.
  • Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Any other duties not listed here but that the company feels adequate for the employee’s role or expertise, as approved by the executive team.
what we expect

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Graphic and/or Web Designer with a strong portfolio
  • Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
  • Excellent visual design skills and understanding of elements and principles of design  
  • A solid understanding of design theory and methods layout, color, and typography)  and a  sensitivity to human-computer  interaction
  • Up-to-date with the latest Web trends, techniques and technologies
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders including providing project updates and responding to constructive design criticism
  • Ability to work methodically, be attentive to details, meet deadlines and solve problems through the design process
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, InDesign, Sketch or other visual design and wire-framing tools
  • Proficiency in Webflow, Shopify or Wordpress design and development a huge plus
  • At least 3 years of experience in website design preferred 
  • BA/BS degree in Interaction Design, Visual Arts or other relevant field

Salary

$36,000 - $48,000 depending on experience and tenure
