Frontend Web Developer

day to day overview

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Director of Engineering to manage and execute on custom development projects
  • Cooperate with web designers to match visual design intent
  • Create responsive website layout/user interface by using modern HTML/CSS/JS practices
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient clean code based on specifications by using best software development practices 
  • Integrate software components, third-party programs and data from various back-end services and databases
  • Verify and test systems to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
  • Keep updated with the web development industry by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, and engaging in continuous learning
  • Any other duties not listed here but that the company feels adequate for the employee’s role or expertise, as approved by the executive team.
what we expect

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as a Web Developer, Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role
  • Knowledge of practical modern and responsive HTML/CSS/JS
  • Experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Monday, Trello, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and attentiveness to instructions 
  • Experience with debugging buggy, slow, or inefficient code strongly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of SEO and how it relates to developing a website solution
  • Desire to learn and grow as the company scales and development team grows
  • Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude with aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks with an attention to detail within the constraints of timelines
  • Experience with Shopify and Shopify apps strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Javascript Frameworks such as React, Angular, etc. is preferred

Salary

$40,000 - $45,000 depending on experience and tenure
